The business philosophy behind Parents Essentials is about having the right balance between spending time with your family and working.  As the parents of young children (Elyse has a daughter, Saskia, and a son, Asher and Nina has 3 boys, Owen, Joel and Austin), Elyse and Nina were keen to find that balance after spending over 10 years each in the corporate sector, working in sales and trade marketing.

It was while searching for a pack for pregnant friends containing all the products we know you need, and those you would love to have had in hospital, that Parents Essentials was born. We realised that as a new parent it was almost impossible to work out which items were "essential" and which were "nice-to-have" from the large number of products available in retail stores and on line.

After attending the Pregnancy Birth and Children Expo in Melbourne at the end of 2007, we found some new and innovative products which brought the same response from both of us - 'Wow, how great is this?'.  After trialling the products ourselves, we knew we could spread the word about these solutions for parents through our website, and make the lives of other parents easier too.
